The Portuguese Hospitality Sector
A growing sector and the search for differentiation
One of the fastest-growing areas in Portugal is undoubtedly tourism, accompanied by the hotel industry. In fact, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), in 2023 there were 30,028,890 guests in tourist accommodation establishments, representing an increase on 2022 when the number stood at 26,519,72. This growth in the number of guests has boosted demand for accommodation which, consequently, has led to an increase in the number of openings. According to figures from the consultancy Neoturis provided to the online newspaper ECO, 150 hotels will open by 2026, with Portugal already overtaking France and Spain in the number of rooms per square metre. Although Lisbon and the Algarve lead the way in terms of the number of new establishments, 43 and 22 respectively, the Alentejo and the Centre, with 16 and 12 respectively, are gaining some prominence on the national scene. Revenue in the sector has also followed this upward trend, with hotels expected to earn 20% more in 2023 than in the previous year (Source: Jornal de Negócios).

Increase customer satisfaction in a sustainable way
With the number of tourist establishments growing and consumers becoming ever more demanding, it is imperative to find ways to differentiate, guaranteeing an excellent service that will satisfy the needs and expectations of all guests. In this sense, large-scale accommodation establishments such as estates, hotels or resorts that excel in quality and attention to detail can use e-Tuks as an additional service, included or not in the stay, to dazzle customers. An example of this type of application is property tours, which can present the best of your establishment and share its story with customers. With tuk tuks you can also bring your guests where they need to be. If, for example, you have a hotel, resort or estate where the rooms/units are far from reception, you can use tuk tuks to shorten distances and provide greater comfort.
