Tourism in Portugal
Much can be discussed about the tourism sector, but one thing is irrefutable: the growth of this area in Portugal. According to data from the National Statistics Institute, the number of non-resident tourist arrivals in Portugal increased by 7.7% when compared to the pre-pandemic period (2019) and by 19.2% when compared to 2022. These figures show a growing interest in our little corner of the world, a trend driven in large part by the multiple international awards that honour our destination, the mild climate and the diversity of tourist activities and attractions. Despite the challenges and obstacles faced, the tourism sector shows no signs of slowing down, making it an attractive area for investment.

Tuk Tuks & Tourism
One of the most successful applications of e-Tuks.
Portugal is known for its history, which spans centuries in the past and is now embodied in its breathtaking scenery and meandering historic centres. Getting to know these places is a must on any traveller’s itinerary, but traffic restrictions and narrow streets make it difficult to access them. This is where e-Tuks come in. Their easy handling and size allow them to navigate the twists and turns of cities, while the fact that they are 100% electric allows them to bypass certain restrictions imposed on fossil-fuelled vehicles. The shape of the e-Tuk also allows tourists to connect more deeply with the city by experiencing its smells and sounds. If you add a talented guide/driver to the recipe, the business is sure to be profitable. In addition to creating tours and transfers for leisure tourism, these vehicles can also be used for business tourism, for example by organising team-building tours or even more complex treasure hunts around the city.
Our experience
Our history with e-Tuks goes back to 2016 when we decided to create a brand called Local Tuk Tuk focused on selling tours in 100% electric tuk tuks in Madrid. We were the first in this city and, quickly realising all the potential, we also opened activity in Lisbon. As a result of this experience, we realised the peculiarities of the tuk tuk tour business better than if we had only started by selling the vehicles. These events have enabled us to acquire skills that make us able not only to accompany the entire process, but also to offer professional and personalised support.

L5 Limo GT
Connecting people and places has never been so easy and environmentally friendly.
As we’ve established so far, the tourism sector is growing in Portugal and the marriage of this growth with tuk tuks is an inevitable link. As such, the e-Tuk L5 Limo GT is a financially and ecologically sustainable option. With this vehicle you can transport up to 4 people, 5 if you include the driver, and show them the best of Portugal. The range is approximately 130 kilometres, and the battery usually takes 5 hours to charge.
